ALEKOVTSI BACK FROM HOLLAND

dsc02632 A group of students and teachers from the “Aleko Konstantinov” Vocational School of Economics, Kardzhali, has returned from Holland after a week stay in the country.
The group included four students from Class IX and four students from Class X, accompanied by two teachers and the principal of the school Mrs Kera Petrova. They had the opportunity to work for one week with their peers from four European countries – the Netherlands, Germany, Poland and Romania, as the host of this meeting was college “Ichthus” in the city of Kampen, Netherlands.
The meeting was a part of the activities under the project “School of the Future” in sub-program “Comenius School Multilateral Partnerships “. The project is funded by European Commission.
Project timetable provides further meetings with partners – in 2013 they will get together to exchange information on the activities implemented in Poland and Germany, and in the spring of 2014 the host for all partners will be “Aleko Konstantinov “Vocational School of Economics.
dsc03284 The project provoked a great interest among students from VIII to X class in the school who are direct beneficiaries to it. Following a preliminary selection through verification of students’ knowledge of English and their work skills in ICT were selected and those who will participate in meetings with the project partners.
The main objective of the project is to raise the attention of students and teachers from partner schools to e-learning tools and skills that produce it, stimulating creativity and innovation in teaching. The participants have set themselves the task to assess whether and how students can benefit from modern facilities within the class curriculum, what are e-learning schools? How can this increase motivation? And will be there increased the opportunities for differentiation of teachers to help students? To address these questions, there will be made an assessment for the individual learning styles of students from different European countries with specific characteristics of these countries and their education systems.
What is next?
During the project, students in groups will choose topics that they find interesting and taught in school during the year. Topics will be referred to the framework of the project and will be presenting their goals through ICT in the learning process in a manner interesting and accessible to students. Each school will establish an office for advice where the participants will make conclusions and draw up proposals for its headmaster what to do to make their school “School of the Future.”
sam_0542 There will be prepared a Handbook of “School of the Future”, which will include all researches, results and recommendations to students.
The visit to Kampen and the first meeting with the partners will leave in participants unforgettable memories. The rich and emotional program prepared by the hosts, give great opportunity for young students to learn about culture, traditions, sightseeing not only in Kampen but in incredibly beautiful Amsterdam, too.
